Our Commitment
OrderAble is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards so that all users can independently access our restaurant ordering platform.
OrderAble strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for everyone.
Conformance Status
OrderAble is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Substantially conformant means that the content mostly conforms to the accessibility standard, with some exceptions.
A full Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR/VPAT) is available for enterprise clients, procurement officers, and assistive technology users who require detailed compliance documentation.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of OrderAble relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and assistive technology installed on your computer:
- HTML5 with ARIA landmark regions
- CSS (including focus-visible states and sufficient color contrast)
- JavaScript (non-blocking; all core functionality available without JS)
- WAI-ARIA 1.2 for dynamic content (live regions, tab panels, form error associations)
These technologies are relied upon for conformance.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions:
- Third-party Stripe payment widget — The embedded Stripe payment form is controlled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe maintains its own accessibility conformance program. Users who encounter barriers in the payment flow may contact us for alternative payment arrangements.
- Dynamic menu content — Menu items are loaded per-restaurant. Dietary flag icons include text equivalents; image-based menu photos (where present) include descriptive alt text provided by the restaurant operator.
Assessment Approach
OrderAble assessed the accessibility of this platform using the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation using automated testing tools (Playwright accessibility tree audits)
- Manual testing with VoiceOver on iOS and macOS
- Keyboard-only navigation testing
- Color contrast verification against WCAG 1.4.3 (4.5:1 minimum for normal text)
- Review against all 78 applicable WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria
